Present Despite the Absence

We long for so many things at a time we believe is right for us, and grieve when they don’t happen as we hoped. But we don’t yet know that some wishes aren’t waiting to come true—they’re waiting for the right time.

Dana thought some absences meant the end, and that what was gone could return only as a memory.

But the days were keeping a different truth from her…

Letters that never arrived, words left hanging, and feelings lost to sight but never absent from the heart.

As time passed, she began to understand that some things we lose were never really losses, and that some delays held an answer she wasn’t ready to understand back then.

Will what is gone return when its time comes? Or are some people destined to remain… present, even in their absence?
